A rate card simply means the price charged per day for someone’s time. Unlike many agencies that keep these numbers under wraps until you’ve signed on the dotted line, we believe in transparency. We value time: yours and our team’s. That’s why when we scope projects, we talk in days, not timesheets. Our pricing is structured in GBP (£) and is based on day rates, with the minimum charge being a quarter-day.

Our approach is simple: fair, consistent pricing across all our service lines. No hidden costs, no inflated figures, just clarity from the start.

How our pricing works

When you work with It Just So Happens, you are not hiring individuals by job title. You are accessing capability. Each project or retainer is built using a mix of experience levels, assembled specifically for your brief. Time is scoped, allocated, and protected from the outset so everyone involved knows exactly what is expected.

This approach allows us to deliver efficiently, maintain quality, and avoid surprises mid-project.

Student Apprentice – Under 1 year experience. Works under direct supervision, supporting delivery tasks such as research, preparation, QA, and documentation. Not client-leading.

Founder involvement – Founder involvement is not assumed. Founder time is scoped separately and included only where strategic leadership, advisory depth, or executive oversight is required.

How we calculate a project

Projects are calculated by allocating time across the experience levels required to deliver the work properly.

Example: £10,000 project

  • Lead Visionary: 10 days × £700 = £7,000

  • Advanced Specialist: 8 days × £360 = £2,880

Total allocated time: 18 days

Total cost: £9,880 (rounded to £10,000)

This example is illustrative, but the principle is always the same. Time is allocated deliberately. Rates are applied consistently. Quotes reflect exactly what is required to deliver the agreed scope.

Time equals time

We do not discount time. Every quote reflects:

  • The time required
  • The experience involved

  • The responsibility carried

Reducing cost means reducing scope or time, not reducing the value of the work. Time equals time.

What we don’t do

To keep our model clean, fair, and sustainable, we do not offer:

  • Commission-based work
  • Performance-only or revenue-share models
  • Discounted or speculative work
  • Junior-only delivery teams

Our work is scoped, priced, and delivered professionally. Everything that leaves our virtual doors we pride ourselves on to be delivered as award-winning and portfolio-worthy work.

Pricing stability

Once you start working with It Just So Happens, your rate card is locked in at the year you join us. As long as your engagement remains continuous, your agreed rates stay protected, even as our rate card evolves year on year.

New scopes or services added later are quoted at the current rate card.
